9月14日,美國弗吉尼亞理工大學 杰出名譽教(jiao)授Paul B. Siegel應邀參觀上海派森諾(nuo)(nuo)生物(wu)科技股份有限(xian)公司(以下簡稱“派森諾(nuo)(nuo)生物(wu)”)。

Paul B. Siegel 教授現(xian)任美(mei)(mei)(mei)國(guo)科(ke)(ke)學(xue)(xue)(xue)促進會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)士;曾任美(mei)(mei)(mei)國(guo)生物科(ke)(ke)學(xue)(xue)(xue)學(xue)(xue)(xue)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)長(chang)(chang)、美(mei)(mei)(mei)國(guo)動物行(xing)為學(xue)(xue)(xue)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)長(chang)(chang)、美(mei)(mei)(mei)國(guo)家禽學(xue)(xue)(xue)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)長(chang)(chang)、美(mei)(mei)(mei)國(guo)弗吉尼亞科(ke)(ke)學(xue)(xue)(xue)學(xue)(xue)(xue)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)長(chang)(chang)、世界家禽學(xue)(xue)(xue)會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)資深(shen)副會(hui)(hui)(hui)(hui)長(chang)(chang)等職位。

Siegel教授長期致力于鳥類物種行(xing)為(wei)學(xue)和(he)免疫遺(yi)傳(chuan)學(xue)研究。發表了400余(yu)篇期刊論(lun)文,并獲得家(jia)禽(qin)科(ke)學(xue)研究獎、中共(gong)國際家(jia)禽(qin)研究獎、家(jia)禽(qin)研究先驅獎等特殊榮(rong)譽。

今天(tian),在派(pai)森諾(nuo)首席科學家孟和(he)教授的陪同下,參觀派(pai)森諾(nuo)生物。

下圖為Siegel教(jiao)授與孟老師等換上實(shi)(shi)驗服,走(zou)進了派森諾的實(shi)(shi)驗室,從實(shi)(shi)驗環(huan)境到實(shi)(shi)驗平臺,孟教(jiao)授都陪同Siegel教(jiao)授一(yi)一(yi)參觀了解,并為其(qi)詳細介紹。

在(zai)實(shi)驗室外,Siegel教授與我們的部(bu)門負責人(ren)進行(xing)深切交談(tan)。

走出(chu)實驗室,Siegel教授又(you)隨著孟老(lao)師(shi)等人(ren)一起來到了一樓的(de)辦公區域,了解派森諾(nuo)員工每(mei)天(tian)的(de)工作環境。

最后離開之際,Siegel教授與(yu)管理層、技術人(ren)員合影留戀(lian)。

Dr. Paul Siegel was raised on a small (12 hectares) family poultry and tobacco farm in the Northeastern part of the United States. After receiving his BS in Poultry from the University of Connecticut, he went 2,500 km to America’s heartland (Kansas) where he received his MS and PhD in Genetics.

Upon completion of his PhD in 1956, he moved 1,800 km to the southern United States where he joined the faculty at Virginia Tech. Currently, he holds the rank of University Distinguished Professor, Active Emeritus (this rank is limited to <1% of the faculty). While at Virginia Tech, he has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in poultry, genetics, and behavior, as well as serving as major advisor to >50 graduate students.

The author of >500 publications, he is the recipient of numerous awards for his research, including an honorary doctorate from Swedish Agricultural University, and is an Inductee to the American Poultry Industry Hall of Fame and the International Poultry Hall of Fame.
